Elwood: EP has given interviews before, a week or two before earnings. In fact, I think he has done it before earnings for the last 12 months. Those interviews were not followed by blow-out results. When I heard about the recent interview I had the thought that I would be happier to see him break the pattern and line up some interviews for the day earnings were announced. However, it is an academic point because I am certain that he has beaten the streets expectations. I am sticking with the .41 I offered on Robbie' list. If that is wrong, I expect it to be too conservative.

El,

I agree. Plus, he has made additional references for the past month or so....even back to his Comdex keynote address that you (I believe) recently posted. Remember also his interview on CNBC a few weeks ago..."plenty plenty" emphasis on the Internet, to paraphrase.

All in all, it should be an interesting week. Another help may occur (granted, remotely) from EMC's earnings announcement before the bell Tues.

GO CPQ

El: John Wayne Renquist had a chance to earn his pay today. But when asked how much time had been used up, he looked startled as in "who me?" then got out of it by asking the "parliamentarian" to tell him. He also spent about ten minutes trying to spear an elastic band with a a toothpick. I think the weight of his Versace cloak is wearing him down. When the ready-to-wear version hits the stores I want mine in lycra.

El -
UNLESS he had blow-out earnings to report for Q4
Not according to Jim Kelley, who is over on the DELL thread still claiming that CPQ revenue will be OK but earnings will be low. What did he claim on this thread, .12 or something??? He's also telling me to shut up.

Well, Jim, only a few more days before your last shred of credibility is blown away. Still not too late to recant and get the true religion.
