Hi Bald Eagle - I agree. What is Mr. Piercy doing to justify a salary of $ 250,000.00 ? What is his contribution to TSIG's bottom line ? It is definetely a fair question in my opinion.

Regards,

Phil

Baldy,
This is a very fair question indeed. I would like to know more specifics concerning Mr. Piercy's role also. While the $250,000 salary could bother some people at first glance, I am not so sure there is a problem with it. If you remember a LONG time ago when the CCI acquisition was first made public, the deal was an all stock transaction. This was later changed to the current stock and cash deal. Let's say TSIG wanted to pay $1 million in cash on top of the stock options. TSIG did not (and still may not) have $1 million in cash, so maybe the company and Piercy make a deal to pay Piercy $250,000 for 5 years (interest charges included). Reasonable? Perhaps. Is this what happened? I don't know. Maybe Bob can ask Gordon on Monday.

BTW, are there any Laker fans out there? Do you realize that in the early 1990's Magic Johnson signed a 25 year contract at $1 million per year? He obviously isn't playing anymore. The long term contract was to avoid salary cap issues. It gave Magic a guaranteed salary well into the next century, and the Lakers avoided having to pay a bunch of money up front. Good deal for both.
