Eric, good question.

If you push the short sell button, the system will accept only if MBT has the shares - and MBT (or Southwest, in practice) often doesn't have shares.

On the other hand, the system will reject if you just push the sell button and the shares aren't in your account, won't it?

Is this incorrect, anybody?
