Can someone explain how this works? I'm new to on-line trading and I'm being very cautious and conservative and I need an informed opinion. It's 5 PM EST Sat. Jan. 30 and I'm interested in IBI. I'm looking at the Bid/Ask price in Realtime and find the ask price is 40 1/8 after closing on Friday 1/29/99 at 39 7/8. If I should place an order now, is it a fair assumption the trade would be executed at or about 40 1/8? The reason I'm asking and considering placing the order now is the Super Bowl is tomorrow and it may get a boost in orders late Sunday or early Monday because of it's TV advertising during the game. If this logic is correct and the ask price should rise say two more points before the market opens Monday would I still be gaining a two point advantage? Or should I expect to pay the extra two points?
