Thanks for the pointers. I'll go check out my local bookstore (they have better Latte than Amazon).

Without seeing it I can't be sure, but I bet his premise is that money flowing in due to IRA's and 401ks will drive the market up, simply on supply-demand principles (a bit like AMZN is today). My concern is that while this creates paper wealth, it doesn't create real wealth, and the paper wealth can vaporize instantaneously just like WIND did today.

My hope is that there may be a double-boom effect, one boom as money flow into the market, and another as money is pulled out to purchase the stuff that retiring people like, which will cancel the outflow and keep the market as a whole healthy.

So maybe the best bet is to start buying Yacht companies in 2010, hospital stocks around 2030, and undertaker stocks in 2050.

Grim thought.
