The rumor is that csco may be bidding for CIEN.

Nortel would not be interested in CIEN because they can still can offer 10Gb/Sec. speed by using WMB. Williams Communications Inc. (WMB) 30 1/2: network provider doubles contract with Nortel Networks (NT 54) for optical networking, network management and long-distance switching solutions; five-year contracts through 2002 has been increased from $300 mln to $600 mln for equipment deployment; see press release....
