You are right 100%. I think I've learned that lesson over the years. But one habit I can't break is looking to my break-even price. The stock doesn't care whether or not you own it, and it cares even less what price you bought it at. But so often when a stock comes back from a dive - as it almost always does - and gives me the chance to get out with half a skin, I'll wait for another 1/2 point rise in order to "get out even." Never fails to cost me.

Maybe by making public confession I'll get closer to stopping that particular destructive habit.
