This Digital Me business is a good one for the banks. This is what they already do as your trusted agent with your money. Novell is not likely to be perceived as a good place to store your digital valuables. This reminds me of the debates we have on the Checkfree thread where the portals and the financial institutions are the possible places where individuals would go to pay their bills online. The banks may or may not be able to get up to speed to develop this type of business while their bricks, mortar and teller business disappears. To develop this rapidly, Novell needs to put others in this business, not try to go into it on their own. Not enough time to build this themselves. Maybe this is what Eric is thinking when he tells us about the RedSpread push into the ISPs.

Thanks for your thoughts on "Digital Me" Paul. By golly, I think you have captured the essence of how this product will work in Novell's business model. This would be an incredible and powerful tool to enhance and streamline the security eCommerce on the internet. I'm sure Schmidt is pushing the envelop on this one with lightening speed. It seems to have the essence of enormity that most Wall Street types haven't even sensed yet. I don't think I can wait until BrainShare in March! I'm sure more tidbits will be disclosed at earnings CC.

Regards,

QuadK
