Tut Systems

The following is an excerpt the 1/25/99 Barrons that started out about Perot Systems upcoming IPO in the 1/25/99 Barrons,

"Tut Systems, a developer of products to permit high-speed data access over existing copper telephone lines, is likely to get lost in the clatter of high-profile deals. It's worth a look. Microsoft will hold a 9.9% stake in the company after the IPO, and AT&T Ventures will own 5.7%. Tut Systems has yet to make a profit but has licensed its HomeRun technology, designed for home networking, to others for incorporation in PCs, peripherals, modems, Internet telephones and TV-based Web browsers.

This week, Tut Systems, of Pleasant Hill, California, plans to offer 2.5 million shares at $14-$16 each via Lehman Brothers. The proposed Nasdaq symbol is TUTS."

Anybody know whether TUTS complements or competes with PAIR products?

In either event, the TUTS IPO could draw attention to PAIR and drive it up as an alternative for those who cannot buy TUTS at a reasonable price if TUTS takes off on the day of its IPO.

Good luck to all,
Wolverine
