Afternoon,

Justed wanted to drop in and say hello. I caught some comments regarding us and justed wanted to say thanks. Its nice hearing good things about the efforts you put out. A brokerage firm is not unlike any other business, whether it be a bike shop, an fleet of ice cream trucks, a moving company etc.

I blushed when i read someone talking about how I 'even got on the phone to talk to the person'. Trust me, we all walk, talk, eat and sleep like everyone else. The day i dont get on the phone to talk with clients and develop such relationships is the day i quit this industry. If i wanted to do that, i'd work for Goldman Sachs.

Your clients are your business and you do everything and anything to take care of their best interests. You cant be perfect. Noone can. To expect that of anyone is setting expectations to high. Anyway, i'm glad that people have enjoyed our services.

Someone mentioned about registration in several states. I think last year we added about 9 states to our total. its not hard process and we have never been turned down. We have a 100% clean record with NASD, amex and Sec. Its more a matter of a business decision and interest. Interest in that noone from Alabama has ever called us. And a business decision as in it takes a certain amount of interest from the state to warrant us registering. Not a lot. Figure most states cost 300 to 400 to register and another couple hundred per rep. Not huge money, but alot if the client might only do 100 in commissions for the year. The last thing we want is any confict such as an 'need' to get a client to do trades. No thanks. Also, if we just registered in every state and solicited business from any and everyone, we'd be just like any other broker.

We have a unique model, one thats worked for 22 years. If we arent registered in a state, call me, lets find out if the state has a deminimus exclusion (which alabama might - would have to call them, Georgia does not, they want their $500 bucks) and we can then do something.

Anyway, its nice reading some good things about us. One day i'd be happy to present a list of all the goof ups we've made. But I guess in that we always make the client good makes it tolerable. Clients understand errors and computer problems etc. as long as you hone upto them and do what was right.

Anyway, if anyone has any questions about execution systems, market operations, issues, etc. please feel free to let me know.

Great thread! Hopefully I can find some time to add something of value.
