Buy....... Novell Short.... Dell Channel executive I've Got Mail! believes the Internet craze has created some overly high-priced stocks. The channel executive adopted short positions on several Internet stocks, including online auctioneers eBay Inc. and Ubid Inc., as well as six-month pick Beyond.com Corp. I've Got Mail! bet against these companies because their market capitalizations exceed their revenue, dictating a correction. Of three-month short eBay, whose market capitalization equates to roughly 270 times sales, the channel executive said, "People like its technology. But this is a dear price at one-fifth its current value." The channel executive gave a thumbs-up to one-year buy Novell Inc., indicating that the networking company beat software giant Microsoft Corp. to the punch with its new Novell Directory Services product.
