Joe, 25 years from now CCD sensors may be made with .02u element spacing. Coupled with a magnetic lens they would resolve ~10,000,000 pixels on each axis and require 400 Terabytes of storage for a 32-bit color bitmap (that's a whole lot of spare memory cards for just one picture.) The nice part is that you'll be able to see grandma's nose hairs on photos taken from a mile away!

I do agree that storage requirements will increase over time. My great grandchildren will probably have virtual reality halographic projecting Gameboys.
