In VB the Tasisuak Gneiss is way high in nickel. It is thought to be the source. 2) Ni is not crustal, unless we include re-mobilization as a mode of genesis # who knows? 2) Depth studies are academic and sulfur isotopes are frequently inconclusive. I am not sure about the "squishy-ite" as a depth indicator. # I will agree. 4) Gabbro...mantle derive....is there crustal gabbro? # well no. But much of what we call Gabbro is actually an ophiolite. 5) Cinder cones....pyrite are we heading towards a VMS discussion??? # yes. I am saying the nickel orebodies of Canada are by and large VMS not magmatic. 6) Outgassing.... vents... radial... metastable?????????????????? # I am saying the vents waters got their nickel solutions circulation at the time of events within the magma while it was fractionating and going through chemical conversions. # metastability is the explantion the magamtists have for the low formation temperature of their suppoed magmatic nickel. Occam is invoked to show that the magmatists of Sudbury have called for explanations to buttress their theory of intrusion where evidence points in other directions obviously. It is as if the plane of weakness is invoked to explain what cannot be explained otherwise. In other words the Little green man is this magic plane of weakness that deus ex machina works its maginc and stays integral throughout its improbable life as it circulates the basin edge. EC<:-}
