The outcome is quite obvious,is it not?

DWWII:

Also do note GTW warned in Nov, I belive, that they might not meet the consensus but Dec they did so well and hence the blow out sales and earnings numbers.Obviously just one month (Dec) did it for them. Now like you said Dell never forewarned about any short fall either in earnings or in revenues. The outcome it is quite obvious isn't it?

It took 10 and this was a standard package. No alterations. I'm sure they had it in stock

Dell has no stock. Everybody's computer is custom made.

I like your optimism. If $85 is a distant memory by the middle of Feb, I might just have to start looking for ocean front property.

I ordered a gateway a few months back (before being a dell stockholder).... They called twice to substitute products and I gave them the OK. A week later I followed on the unit and it hadn't been build yet. Standard stuff.... I canceled order. John

>>>> Also, last July when DELL tripled the number of shares out-standing they only declared a two for one stock split. I believe they will announce the other 1/3 as a three for two split in Feb.>>>>

3/2 is a rather appealing concept. 1.2 bil+0.6 bil=1.8 bil outstanding after first split. Leaves 1.2 bil in treasury for a second split 3/2 in Sept but only if conditions are right.

The prevailing series of 2/1 splits must end sometime,
like when the present 3 bil are finally issued, will the company ask for approval of 12 bil shares and issue 6 bil on a split?
I would rather see another company try than one first!
Now may be the year to back off from the 2/1's , as the market seemed to require some months to digest the last split in Sept.
My guess is that Dell would prefer, for the morale of employees, to see a steady upward stock price related to the performance and output of the company.
But perhaps, on second thought, well, why not.??? 12 bil shs
