Len - I think you are right about biotechs. Many development stage companies are way down and make for some good values IF they can survive, and have the products to be successful and attract licensing/partnerships. I don't expect many big run ups to high valuations like the internet stocks, but I expect we'll see runups on real news, such as licensing/partnerships, and FDA approvals. In 1998 there were 50 FDA approvals, in 1999 80 are expected.

I also agree about daytrading, can't watch the CRT all day. Best to get to know some companies with milestones coming, know their valuations and "base price", stay in contact with the company, and juggle/piggy back them.

You should visit the "Biotech questions and answers" thread over at SI Misc. - biotech.

MIKE..LEN....BIOTECHS...

Just a thought since this is an area you
like...do a 'search' on the following strings:
"FDA approves" or "FDA grants" on yahoo search or other..
you will see the news stories that are posted after
hours..these are often worthwhile "event" plays the next day.

The Jan 22 issue of CTCL mention ONTAK and Panretin launches and said they expected FDA approval within 2 weeks. TokyoMex also expecting approval:

which may have caused the price and volume spike yesterday afternoon.
