This raises an interesting issue. How often is trading in Broadcom affected by Broadcast.com (BCST)? In the short time I have been following Broadcom, I've noticed that the two follow each other pretty closely. Could it be that BRCM piggybacks on BCST news? Some smart investors have picked up on mistakes like these with stocks like TCI (whose ticker is TCOMA, not TCI) and MCI (whose ticker was MCIC, not MCI) to make money off those who buy the wrong stock on hot news. Of course, BCST and BRCM are similar (i.e. they both attract internet investors), so the correlation in their stock movements may be mostly coincidental.
