The buyout scenario is nothing but a short term perturbation. Hard to visualize the company not being able to progress at some level, given the distribution and genetic resources at hand. That being said, I am uncomfortable with the oft stated refrain of the shorts, "there will be no deal". They were positive enough to make what appeared to be foolhardy moves on the basis of information available through regular channels. How could they be so sure this would happen?
