E*Trade charges 14.95 for NYSE and 19.95 for NASDAQ. Level 2 on its own is probably around $200 per month, maybe less. As for saving a few bucks with Datek, Datek doesn't allow BB stocks or NASDAQ stop orders. I don't like that restriction though it would be nice to have access to the Island system. Final word about commissions - if I can use L2 to make money, I don't care about a few bucks on commissions. The game comes down to who made the most money by the end of the day, right?
