Do not be misled by insider buying in VTEL. VTEL lends its execs money to buy the shares. They are not buying with their own money.

I have heard rumors (and they are just that) that they will miss their original expectation of flat sales with last Q and sales will likely be in low 30s or upper 20s this Q.

VTEL following a pattern like Netframe and Tricord Systems. Both were in the server business and doing well. Then they missed the shift to lower cost systems and both ended up one-dollar stocks. (I think Netframe was later bought by MUEI).
