Dear AG and Panel of Judges: The over-valuation of AMZN has been no secret. On this board it has been repeated over-and-over. And there have been short waves of selling AMZN and the other contest stocks, only to find "new" buyers. Up until 1/16/99, there was nothing to suggest that things were different. What was the difference this time and what caused the normal "adjustments" to assume a "blow-off" situation this week? Greenspan, the Federal Reserve "suggesting" to the major brokerage firms to temper this frenzy, and the resultant "tightening" of margin requirements on the I-nuts. That was my entry (1/16/99), bolstered by an independent newspiece which focused on Greenspan accelerating the "tumble" (posted by me on 1/21/99) and posts by investors here and on, at least, Toyko Joe's board of "real" experiences of this "tightening" of margin requirements.
