In the embedded market, if I had to place a bet, it's hard going against StrongARM due to technology coupled with Intel's manufacturing and marketing strengths.

In any case, back to Rambus -- it seems to me that the only pain you're going to feel in the embedded market is if SOC's can fully incorporate enough DRAM such that an external interface isn't needed. This may be the case for some applications; but overall it would appear to me that the higher capability embedded market is ripe for Rambus's serial memory interconnect technology.
