This week may be a great week for AMD longs.
In addition to the S&P report, Monday 25, 1999 "Investor Business Daily" a reputable financial paper published an article
by James Detar on Intel. The Title is "Intel To Market: Fool Me Once"" and this is part of what he had to say:

"In the last year, AMD and Cyrix have made inroads against Intel in th sub $1,500 notebook market by landing contracts with major players like Compaq Corp, "That's money that Intel has been leaving on the table," Giusto said.

"Pudy says that AMD and Cyrix after lagging Intel's technology for years, have gotten their acts together. AMD FINNLAY GOT THEIR K6 technology to produce a low cost Intel compatible chip that could work in a portable, " Purdy said.

" Purdy says Compaq's best selling desktop PC is a Presario powered by an AMD K6.

Gerry Purdy is a Chief Executive of researcher Mobile Insights in Mountain View , California.
