Marc: I am starting to enjoy the impeachment show. I think the overall benefit for investors will be great as it will cause a slowing in economic growth as more and more people tune in to live witnesses on show and forget to go to the mall. Boy, and that is just the way the media likes it. Why else would they go out and do a poll to determine that the people would like a trial of one week, with witnesses like Monica and an unconvicted President? What a great script for movie of the week. And if that is what the polls say, then we should do just that as, after all, we are a country run by pollsters. Yes, the media did this poll a few weeks back and the results were broadcast on the radio coast to coast during one weekend.

And the Senators, who think now this is all about them and their ability to get along in a bipartisan fashion, have become dysfunctional just like our President. Now that is what I call leadership by example. And as the Senators from both sides cry and moan about how this whole event has caused them to hate one another, they will all be wearing thong underwear over their suit slacks as they run like dysfunctionals to the nearest microphone and camera during breaks and give us their best Rodney King imitation: "why can't we all just get along?"

But the bottom line good news is that they will be unlikely pass any meaningful legislation for years to come as a result of their division. What a perfect scenario for gridlock and investor nirvana. For the good of the country, I am going to bankroll this whole fiasco.

But I like the President's suggestion of stock market participation in the social security fund. I think his timing is just great and marks a short term top to the market. I wonder why he did not make this proposal in October.

>I'm not thrilled about this spectacle<

Marc: Dave Barry puts it all in its proper perspective in today's column. If your Sunday paper doesn't carry Dave, find one that does. It's worth it.
