Paul,

What I have, is an account with a national broker, not online, in a
smaller city.. I have a very good relationship with my broker and in a
more rural area, where there is not much competition for IPOs, I have
found you have better chance to get them.. The national houses seem
to divy up their shares to all branches and if there is none or not
many players in your branch office., you have a very good chance to get them.

But along with this you have to do the bulk of your trading there.
Which is fine with me because I have found I get prompt and excellent
executions.. I read the horror stories of trades hung up or stalled
on line while a hot money stock is ticking against you. If you deal in 1000 shares lots, a half a point is 500.00, so what the hell good
is a 19.95 special if you are stalled on line and can't get through
on the phones.. I'm out with my 125.00-150.00 negotiated commision..
Besides that, you have a better shot at good IPOs which are like
found money..
Just my thoughts.

Good luck Paul.. Coug
