The latest short interest report shows 732,000 shares as of 12/98. Significant to note is the average daily volume at that time was 517,000 shares. As you can see below we are significantly below that figure now. IMO this report was probably early to mid December.

I don't know how large the short position is now, but they really piled on in the recent runup to 5+ and rode it back to under 3. Things have been very quiet around here since then. Sensing that there are bigger fish to fry I would imagine that most shorts covered a long time ago but are keeping it on their radar.

It's on my radar too but I don't sell short. It's my feeling that one or two significant news releases, either a couple of direct links to Aastrom and a sickle-cell/leukemia cure, or FDA approval, and ASTM will blow past 10 in a heartbeat.

I sold for a loss about a month ago but plan to be back in soon.
