SLB Chairman on OS outlook:

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Euan Baird commented: ''The weakening in E&P spending provoked by the flattening of
demand in 1998 will continue well into this year. We expect that falling non-OPEC supply due to the decreased expenditure,
coupled with a recovery in the Asian oil demand, will produce higher oil prices and oilfield services activity in early 2000.''

The only problem with Maverick is that I doubt he'd ever find it...and if he did, he'd need a tow to get him out...and maybe a helicopter to get the remains to the morgue.<G>
I spent the winter of '56 working as a lifeguard at China (Phelan) Beach...I can still remember looking across the Gate and seeing the huge swells (they must have been 40-60 feet) breaking at the Potato Patch and have wondered, since people are being towed out to Maverick, if anyone's ever tried surfing the Patch.
