Are the indicators from float pieces of "kimberlite"? The reason I ask is because if the host rock is orangeite(type II kimberlite),G-10's are meaningless and therefore could potentially be very misleading. Has Gerle done the requisite petrology and whole rock chemsitry?-also, the suite of indicator minerals from type II kimberlite are distinct from type I kimberlite. This should also be evident in the heavy minerals collected from till samples. Type II kimberlites have consistantly high levels of G-10 garnets with the best chemistry you have ever seen. Unlike typical type I kimberlite, abundant G-10's appear to be totally independant of diamond grade. This variety of diamond bearing rock has demonstrated variations in grade (from barren to high grade) and yet full of G-10 garnets with chemistry suggesting origins deep from within the diamond stability field. This IMO suggests that the diamond content/distribution in the upper mantle within the diamond stability field is highly variable. Therefore, even if the chemistry is "as good as it gets", determining the actual presence of diamond and grade remains an empirical process with lots of risk. I personally prefer buying in at more advanced exploration levels such as with Winspear, however, this is a personal reflection of my tolerance for risk. Good luck with Gerle and other juniors.
