I agree fully that a broker shouldn't put pressure to hold an IPO. However many of the underwriting companies do this and I have seen it in writing that selling within 30 days may adversely affect your ability to participate in future IPO actions.

My broker does not do this and in two of the three that I have participated in I sold 1 in the first 10 minutes and one within the first two hours. I still have 1. I bought Conoco for my long term holding.

By the way, i mentioned earlier, I also think WIND will pop on Monday and offer a nice return over a couple of quarters. If it doesn't gap too much at the open I plan to buy.
