Good post Jay, thanks. I have updated the Position account on the website at: home.earthlink.net

Its a coposite picture of both a sample chart (DIS) and the results from 1/1/99 through Friday. I was not able to invert the graph due to the compostion (well, I could have, but it was too much work and I wanted to please Alien...) I would note that the system I use accounts profit/loss for all data in the file, and not from the inception of the account, so the equity (green) line is overstated as it assumes the method was in place for 6 months or more.

Although I am no longer posting the PTA, I have had some requests for an update, and will do so as appropriate. I think the significant thing to note was the increase in short postions since the last look for these dozen stocks.

>>Its no wonder that one of the first things psychiatrists test for when treating a patient is whether or not the patient has any sense of humor about his affliction. The more serious the tone of the individual, the more likely that insanity has set in.<<

So just what are you saying Dr.Jay, Can I be commited or not? Is there hope?

Jay,

Thanks for the excellent link to a very good post. We all need to remind ourselves of what I think were the two most important points:

1) Have a plan, and stick to it
2) Have a sense of humor, and be able to laugh at yourself and the world around you.

My earlier post commending Jay was not intended to slight anyone. This is a great forum here because of a common spirit of trying to help each other be good traders and doing so without hype.

Everyone who is a regular poster here, and those who come by occasionally to offer insights, do an excellent job. Whether it is analysis, money management, planning and sticking to it, stock picking, there is something here for everybody.

As for me, I am doing much better at cutting losses and having a good plan and sticking to it. I am about to embark on another challenge for me, which is to try and stay on the sidelines a bit more while I get my analysis tools rehoned. I am in the process of changing systems and have a lot of other things going on in my life right now (not bad, just busy), so I'm sorry that I can't be more of a contributor yet, but I promise that I will be.

So thanks everyone for everything you do. We do a very good job together, which reminds me of something I have always believed: the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

Peace,

David

morning all ...

gappers

WIND fell on Friday down 17 points ... on an error?

don't really know, but if the WIND thread is a good measure on sentiment, this should rally big time.

It closed at 32 3/16
trades are going off now at 35 ... should have some good retracement from it's fall.

If you are able, would you please put this on your watch for today. And using the gap strategy theory, post entry and exit points?
I am in from near fridays close at 32 1/4

MSFT to split ... tech rally possible

have a great day all :o)
