LESSON ON HOW TO USE EDGAR DATA BASE : AN EXAMPLE

Instead of going to EdgarOnline or FreeEdgar, I just go straight to Edgar

sec.gov

to get the most complete search. I first find the "CIK" or Central Index Number which gives you the most complete info.

From the link I provided hit "search Data Bases"
then scroll down to "special searches" which will take you here

sec.gov

type Echelon (or whatever other company) in at the "company name"

You'll get these three CIK's

0000031347 ECHELON CORP
0001033699 ECHELON GROUP OF COMPANIES LLC
0001023275 ECHELON INTERNATIONAL CORP

Page back and scroll down to "proceed to search Edgar Archives"

Which will take you here,

sec.gov

Type in first CIK from above 0000031347 in the header
and you'll get the most comprehensive amount of reported info.

sec.gov

Do the same for the other two CIK's

Plus best of all this is completely FREE !

Hope this helps

btw- Is FreeEdgar related to Free Willy?
