My company supplies *very* expensive equipment to the Quantum drives division, and since October of last year we have been awaiting their go-ahead to deliver a $20M+ machine to one of their sites. This permission is not forthcoming, and we have now been told that it will never be given, because the site in question is to be closed.<

Hmm. I know Jobs demo-ed VST's external Firewire HD at MacExpo and Adaptec is reportedly developing a Firewire adapter, but if there remains a paucity of FW drives, maybe AAPL should use some of its cash to purchase the assets of a hard drive manufacturer.
