Well...a loss does not mean that you don't have cash...it just means that you spent cash that you have or that you spent cash that you borrowed...in other words its just cash flow...more money going out than coming in during a certain period...(Note that money borrowed is not income and that principal repaid is not "loss"...and also note that a return-on-equity number would be better for a company that was sending cash to its balance sheet than for a company that was repaying principal...and that payment of interest does subtract from income...)...

Yes...Softbank's investments are pretty game...but one of their recent investments was a large CASH deal for a major stake of newly issued shares in E-Trade...Did E-Trade NEED to issue new shares for CASH?...I don't know...

When is Softbank going to sell out of Yahoo?...That's leading editorialism...and its not so easy for major investors to move in and out of major positions...
