Yes, a way to address any drive would be nice, but I
don't know of one.

Put some version numbers and letters in your directory name.
Not only will it help avoid conflicts but will give you an upgrade
path. Make at least two levels of directory so you
don't clutter the root directory with the next version.
Consider making the whole shebang
subdirectory of C:\Program Files (with another directory
level under that for your versions). This will reduce
the PO level of your users <GG>.

New at this development game, right? <ggg>

PS. I enjoy the occasional Hard Right Edge in the Yamner
letter very much. Great name, too.

I have the same question as Ed on using multiple monitors (3-4) with windows 98
have read 100's of posts here but am still confused
some like me are slow as sludge so any basic answers will help

first, I'm buying a new computer strictly for trading to replace what I have been using
no games, fancy graphics, sound etc needed

thinking right now of a P450, with 256 sdram
my understanding is that RAM is more important than processer speed, maybe a 300,350, or 400 would be fine?

next, thinking just DELL or Micron, whatever, unless better ideas

I will likely start with 3 19" monitors, may go with 15" flat screens but doubt it for now

should I specify a Abit BX-6 Intel 440 BX motherboard, is that the best choice

for a hard drive see no need for more than a 8.4 gig?

any need for a zip or tape drive?

standard 32 X CD rom?

now to the multiple monitors

I understand that windows 98 supports this so no other software needed?

I am confused on vidio cards needed
some say that the PCI is the primary and the AGP is secondary?

should I order 3 ATI Expert 8 mb Vidio cards installed and one AGP card
is that right?
or another brand or size?
what is the appox cost for these cards?

and I'm told that the vidio cards are installed into "ports" on the back of the box, and there is where the cables from each monitor are plugged into?

is there anything else I need to consider?

thaks for all help and basic terms to walk this dope through this process
