If the T/TCI deal does not happen ATHM will take a deep plunge until everyone realizes its no big deal after all. ATHM doesnt need T, they have done just fine without them so far.
While I'm posting---
I just realized today something that probably lots of people have realized all along. I think that the first "killer app" for broadband is going to be something very mundane: Simulataneous access for multiple computers.
Imagine:
The kids with thier iMac doing research for homework (HA-yeah right- try playing interactive games or hacking into the NSA), dad checking the news and the stocks, and mom chatting with a gardening club all at the same time. (Sorry for the stereotyping, but I just wanted to show how "mainstream america" this is). Easy with broadband, impossible with a 56k modem. Computers are cheap and getting cheaper every day.
Does anyone know the % of homes with multiple computers today and any projections for the future? Does anyone know the % of homes that have internet access today and the projections? I'll bet 95% of homes with multiple computers will sign up for broadband.
