Christopher,
This forum is all about opinions. Diverse people meeting anonymously posting a diversity of opinions on a subject. We must not lose sight of this. Just because some have views that may run contrary to yours, don't allow that to affect what you post. I for one enjoy your TA. I may not trade by it, but I really enjoy reading your's and other's opinions on the direction of the market and in particular, Compaq.

Christopher:

I had asked you for the TA update and I appreciate your doing it. Some of the numerical targets you mentioned are consistent, for the most part, with some I have heard from other sources.

Christopher,

Let me add my name to those who follow your TA posts with interest.

The key word is "INTEREST" ... I do not look at TA as the absolute future, but as an indication of one methodilogical projection/progostication.

Maybe someday I could become more educated, a convert and/or moved to action by TA ??

Please continue being an interesting asset to this CPQ thread !

Michael

Christopher: I think what we have here is a failure to communicate for which I will be happy to accept half the blame. So let me see if I understand you correctly now. You originally (1/5/99) thought that the DOW because of a reverse head and shoulders pattern, would break out and continue upward to 11,450 and that the likelihood of that not happening was slim. Now, instead, you see a consolidation/correction that may take us at a minimum(?) to 8300 with maybe some support at 8700. But you do still see 11,450 in 3 to 6 months. Is this correct? If so, I am not criticizing you for changing your mind - I'm just trying to understand your reasoning.

Why did you pick 8700 and 8300? You don't see the December low of 8610 as support?

BTW, I don't understand why you are so "touchy" when people ask questions about your analysis or express viewpoints different than your own. You have been right on a lot of things which I have openly given you credit for, but I have to say that you sound a little full of yourself when you make statements like this ...

I think it is best if I keep my TA analysis for myself. People on the SUWN thread should have at least doubled their money from my encouraging TA but the only thing I got back is nothing but arguments. No one even said thank you except for Sonki. So Sonki, if you need an analysis just e-mail me. There are a lot of good people on this thread and the SUNW thread but unfortunaly few people have to screw it (you mean ask questions?) for everyone else. I just don't have the time to deal with all of this and I really mean it. I can barely find the time to post a TA update.

I hope you don't decide to stop posting your TA updates, but I can understand it if you don't since you say you get nothing in return.

K

Christopher,

I would not let the "name callers" on this thread discourage you.
They have nothing to add to the discussion because they have nothing in their heads except " jajajaja.." They are so unsure of their own positions that they attempt to discourage anyone who views may differ from their own. But they are not effective.

cheers,

Jim Kelley

Christopher,
Amateur sociological observation, and philosophical advice.

You have been a welcome addition to this thread. Should you leave, we will be all the poorer for it.

I read the posts where some posters gave you a little grief. It was not vicious. It was a very intense exchange of ideas at times. I found the exchanges educational, and I'm sure many others also found them educational.

Communicating in a written medium is difficult. Written communication lacks so much compared to verbal communication with it's tone of voice and body language to clarify one's intentions. Let's face it our generation is not noted for their letters. We are the telephone and television generation.

The Internet has created a return to the written word in an instant communication medium. My observation and personal struggle with this transition is shared with many others.

However, this form of communication offers an advantage over verbal communication. If you think some one is taking an unwarranted shot at you, reply briefly, or don't reply at all. Don't write a thesis. Just pull their leg and give them a JAJAJAJA.

Thanks for the TA reports, I hope you continue sharing your work with us.
