Has anyone out there used existing corel and other competitive software? Any links to comparative articles on corel products.

A fact, the guys who tack a Zillion Ample Coppers Knowingly Said that cosff is rated as a moderate buy.

The opinion of some smart money has raised their perception of cosff.

But sometimes smart money doesn't know the difference between a byte and a sharp stick in the eye.

Anyway back to more absolute facts.

The facts you mention such as Mr. Cowpland's comments have yet to be proven also. I believe my comments already exist, but what the future holds for Corel could change on a "whim". For a couple of years I have heard him make comments and grandiose statements that did not come to fruition. Why should his current comments be any more believable? Not to say it is not possible for this to happen, but I am still skeptical.

Regards, Wisam

News January 25, 10:14 Eastern Time

SUNNYVALE, CALIF. (Jan. 25) BUSINESS WIRE -Jan. 25, 1999-- Verity to Enable Seamless Web Publishing and Document Conversion

From Within WordPerfect(R) Office 2000 Professional Product,

Code-Named NetDocs

Verity, Inc. (Nasdaq: VRTY), a leading provider of knowledge retrieval solutions for the enterprise and Internet, and Corel Corp. (Nasdaq: COSFF), an internationally recognized developer of award-winning graphics and business productivity applications, today announced an OEM agreement involving Verity's HTML Export technology.

Corel is embedding Verity HTML Export in its new, innovative knowledge publishing application, code-named NetDocs, which will be included in part of Corel's upcoming version of WordPerfect(R) Office 2000 Professional.

An application in the WordPerfect Office 2000 Professional product, code-named NetDocs, Verity HTML Export is designed to provide high fidelity conversion of business documents into HTML for easy Web publishing.

Verity HTML Export allows an organization to publish and view documents from a standard Web browser by instantly regenerating files into HTML directly from their native formats, without requiring an HTML editor or the original application that created them. It is designed to enable Corel users to conveniently convert documents to HTML from within the application's "save as" feature.

Verity HTML Export preserves document characteristics such as tables, graphics, headers and footers and font attributes, and segments documents, spreadsheets and presentations into multiple-linked Web pages with navigational links. Today, Verity HTML Export supports all of the major word processing, spreadsheet and presentation files from each of the popular office applications, including Corel(R) WordPerfect(R).

"We are very excited about the Verity relationship because it allows us to bring the best HTML conversion technology into our product line," said Derek Burney, Corel's executive vice president of Engineering. "We chose Verity because it had terrific technology that could deliver the high-quality solution our customers demanded."

"With its advanced features, Verity HTML Export is designed to make it easy for Corel users to publish documents quickly and easily into HTML from within the application they are using," said Rob Miller, general manager of Verity's KeyView Business Unit. "We are pleased to be working with Corel to bring our well-developed HTML capabilities into its new WordPerfect Office 2000 product."
