Stockman Scott,

I always find it interesting when brokers cold-call me. The last one I got was a persistent guy who recommended a stock to me. I told him I was unwilling to send him any money but that he could call me with another idea and we would see how well his first idea fared. That stock was trading around 18 at the time. When he called back with a new idea, the first stock was trading at just under 5. He was quite surprised when I didn't send him money for his second idea. He hasn't called back, but it's only been a couple of months. Perhaps he will have another good idea...

Good news on the Cowen reaffirmation. For some reason, DELL has not made it to many of the "Best Ideas" types of lists of the major brokerage houses. It's not clear to me what is going on, but their customers may have missed out on the stock of the decade.

Best,

-musea

Scott,
Hi!!
RE: Yesterday, I got a call from a Smith Barney broker who had sent me some marketing propaganda and his company's "Top Picks for 1999."

I have my largest account with them too....but, had I listened to their advice I'd still be climbing ladders....This thread convinced me long ago to ignore some of these "experts"....I BUY MORE DELL on the words of DELL management....my trust lies there...not with any brokerage firm...

Best, kemble

Nice to have you back...
