Michael, I was able to vacuum up one tidbit which was of personal interest because it addressed the subject of technology. The article quoted a source as saying that the future competitiveness of li poly products depended almost entirely on advances in battery chemistry. This is evident when considering the efficiency, or energy density of current products such as Matsushita's cobalt battery which is not significantly greater than lith ion products. Advancements in electrode materials and electrolyte chemistry are essential, and therein lies support for your opinions and work. Monitoring Valence's technical progress through patent research does shed some light, even for those among us whom are technically challenged. Valence's strong suite is assumed to be in the technology area for obvious reasons. They have more than 300 patents approved or pending. We could fairly assume from this that Valence has the lead in what the EE Times writer considers THE most important competitive factor.
