I2: No, I think your are right. The volatility in this market is extraordinary and Brinker has incorporated this fact into his thinking currently. Moonshots like we have can lead to greater than normal corrections IMO and greater than the standard 4-7% we are used to seeing in an ongoing bull market. Brinker has said we can get beyond 10% if we see indiscriminate selling in panic fashion. No guarantee that this will occur.

We should remember that Brinker is getting no intermediate sell signal in his model currently.

I2.

re: I don't recall Bob ever calling for a correction of greater than 10%.

Bob did say that the correction could extend into the mid teens. He also said several times that it might present a buying opportunity. His buy point is over 12% below the SP high. So for his statement to be correct, the market would have to correct more than 10% (or he would have to raise his buy point.) But Bob also hedged saying the correction might not happen.

Bob went on to say that this correction was about profit taking and the stocks that would correct the most would be the ones with the largest gains. Of course, these are the large cap tech stocks. If it didn't violate Bob's many wisdoms about investing for the long-term, I would be tempted to buy long NDX puts tomorrow am.
