Splits make stocks more affordable making it easier for the stock to go up because it is question of supply and demand. Ever wonder why the stocks that split the most are the most financially rewarding and the stocks that don't are laggards.

splits make no difference. For the life of me I cannot understand why people get excited!
Yeah, Chuzz, but its seems to make a difference in people buying the stock. More money comes in and it goes up faster. not reason, just emotion, but don't discount that factor!

Chuzzlewit

As in Dickens' "Martin Chuzzlewit"?

You and I know that a split changes the economics of the Balance Sheet not one whit.

However, not every one who buys stocks knows this and their irrational expectations can drive further buying in a feedback loop.

I.e. Stocks go up because they are perceived to be possessing additional value after a split because they go up after a split!.

Sort of like the recursive definition of a celebrity - someone who is famous by virtue of being well-known.

Ciao, Daniel

Long 20 Apr 100 calls!

OT: In the old days, pay toilets cost a nickle. A dime would clog the works and you had to slip underneath the door and mess up your back with droppings. A saint I used to hang with paid for some fat guy too thick to slide twitching in the bus-station john. He paid the saint a dime for his only nickle. Our last nickle too. We had to slide.
Don't know what pay toilets cost today. Too fat to use them. wish we could have split dimes then.
