ITWO as Gorilla

Shane:
Great observation.

Here is a rather interesting post by some one on the Yahoo thread.

There has been some discussion about whether SCM is a gorilla game, and whether ITWO has achieved the status of Mighty Joe. I don't have technical knowledge of SCM, but common sense leads me to believe SCM is not a gorilla game, because it is an internal corporate tool, which does not require interacting with entities outside the corporation (although of course it uses data about such entities). Thus, a company could use any SCM product it wanted based on the products merits, without being impinged by outside forces.

That said, I love ITWO for eBPO. This concept IS a gorilla game. eBPO requires coordination between corporations, and that will likely require that the cooperating companies be speaking the same language, using the same programs, etc. This is why getting the big corporations (like Compaq and hopefully the automakers) to buy into eBPO is so exciting. They can the lean on their suppliers and distibutors to adopt eBPO for the efficiency benefits. And, voila, a gorilla game is born. And ITWO WILL be the champion because of its demonstrated superiority in SCM and head start in eBPO.

Won't be selling for a long time. Nope, not me.
