I missed that the first time through; 'perhaps this is forming a wedge' - like you suggested in that case the tall upper wick is explained then (the investors didn't want the stock to break above the upper trend line of the wedge).

I assume tomorrow's candle action will pretty much confirm or deny what we have here; but if it's a asc triangle then one would have missed most of the gains. hmmm

on another note - why do you choose to use the semi-log scale? It seems that the semi-log scale gives you % increases/decreases in price rather then just pure point differences.
