<Slightly OT> Chip rate is a red herring!

The higher chip rate was specified by one of the world's largest cellular operator, not much to do with Ericsson! The lower rate does indeed affect capacity of the cellular network (nobody can prove against this). In rough terms the move from 4.096 down to 3.6864 is a reduction of 10% which equates to 10% reduction of capacity, e.g., a 10% reduction of turnover, which in turn means 10% less profits.

Why should an operator want to do that? The Q thread has convinced itself that the reduction is small, don't worry about a slight reduction. Well, who in their right mind would give away 10% of their money?

Maurice, maybe you would like to be taxed an extra 10% on your income?
