"The purchase of SyQuest is a capital expenditure and will not have a direct expense against the EPS."

That may well be true, Reseller, although the original poster called it a "charge" and I don't know quite how to interpret that. All I know is that every company I have owned which has bought another has had a "one-time charge" coming off its books that quarter and this has made things look pretty darn ugly in a number of cases (although the analysts seem to shrug it off). I was/am just hoping that this is the case for IOM this Q. As it is, I figure I'll stick it out, anyway. I just don't have the time and/or energy to trade in and out.

I really haven't been figuring since November that we'd have any significant movement in this stock until April, anyway, without some major unanticipated announcement (like "Kodak, Olympus, Nikon, Minolta, and every other photographic manufacturer today announced that they are all going to market Digital Cameras with only Clik! drives and provision for flash memory only as intermediate storage". Whoops, I guess I anticipated that one, if it hits, let's see, "Windows 2000 is going to incorporate a file system with security features such that a floppy will be incompatible, and Microsoft, in a break with tradition, will no longer support FAT on such systems" (Part 1 of this is true, floppies cannot be NTFS-formatted). Well, there goes that one, or "whatever." - I'm not going to blow it again.) .
