Gary, Does this guy ever make sense? No discussion of whether or not Compaq really DID stuff the channel. That would involve doing some actual work. <G> BTW, they did according to everyone in the channel. In fact, they even opened some new receptacles for tossing in excess production.

Gary, Also note that in IDC's piece on pc servers, they say, "IBM increased revenues by a modest 5% over 1997, largely due to overflowing inventory channel." And that from an industry lap dog. <G>
