HONG KONG, CHINA, 1999 JAN 25 (Newsbytes) -- By Staff, IT Daily. Dell Computer [NYSE:DELL] has announced worldwide availability of the Dell PowerEdge 1300 server, said to offer customers the features and benefits of a workgroup server, but at the price of a desktop system.

Prices for the PowerEdge 1300 server start at HK$15,477.

The 1300 supports up to two Pentium II processors running at 350 megahertz (MHz), 400MHz, or 450MHz, up to one gigabyte (GB) of memory, and up to 54GB of internal storage.

"With the PowerEdge 1300, Dell has introduced a highly reliable and manageable system that redefines server value by providing a robust set of features at one of the most aggressive prices in the industry," said John Legere, president -- Asia Pacific and senior vice president, Dell Computer.
