Just for your information. S/W architects, where I work are in the salary range of $90k - $120k a year. I worked as a consultant for around 10 years. Consultants typically are paid double. Say I made $60k a year, which works out to be about $30 an hour, I would for the same job as a consultant be paid around $60 an hour. Now as a direct employee working salary you DO NOT get paid for anything above 40 hours. As a consultant you get paid for every minute you are on the job. I have had jobs where I was able to work an extra 1000 hours a year. S/W architects make quite a bit of money.$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Everyone here should be very glad that we have such a wonderful sole to help us with our investments.
