Huh? World's biggest supermarket warehouse? Who says? Certainly not Peapod's Chicago site. 70,000 sq ft is tiny. It's a good start, but it ain't that big a deal.

Remember, the $30 million quote in annual revenue is roughly 1 real-life grocery store's annual sales.

Here's hoping Peapod outgrows the new Chicago facility soon.

I wonder if they'll be announcing a growth in membership for 4th Qtr 1998. My guess: nope. My guess is that if the warehouses were delayed by X weeks, the "resumption" of marketing will be delayed by X+Y weeks where Y is any random number you care to suggest.

I'm expecting flat performance for 4th Qtr 98, acknowledging the already-announced $2M charge, and no new members (in fact I wouldn't be surprised if they say 95k). This is pure speculation on my part.

Now, the 1st Qtr of 1999 is another story. By gum, they better have a pretty good reason why membership doesn't start resuming its northward climb. C'mon PPOD, execute! We're all rootin' for ya.
