Don't you think this is kind of silly? You make a bad investment and now you want to sue the federal government? Come on...
What do you want them to do, cause the price of gold to rise so you'll be rich? Gee, that would open a can of worms.
This isn't the first time the government has manipulated a market. Allan Greenspan even profited handsomely when the G5 agreed to devalue the dollar back in 1985. The Dollar dropped from 260 yen to 130. I don't remember hearing about anyone who sued the government over betting the wrong way on that one.

Bill, I am neither an attorney nor an expert on gold. As you know, I have some big positions in gold stocks. I too firmly believe that Government is manipulating the POG. However, I agree with Jim that it may be silly to consider suing the Govt. on these grounds. Perhaps, eventually market forces will take care of this price "fixing." Until then, our strategy has accomodate the possibility of price fixing.

Right on Bill Murphy. You might want to check with Microsoft and Bill Gates to see if they might like to buy some gold and join in. Then again maybe all you need is to have Gates soak up some gold, that might put the shorts on the run and give the Central bankers something to think about! Once Gates has cornered the market he can always sell a little gold to the chip, board and card manufacturers along with the neccessary software. Windows Gold 2000.
