Earnings release date is now Feb 10th... +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Mattson Tech To Delay Releasing 4Q, Year-End Results Dow Jones Newswires FREMONT, Calif. -- Mattson Technology Inc. (MTSN) will delay the release of fourth quarter and year-end results until Feb. 10. In a press release Wednesday, the company attributed the delay to the Securities and Exchange Commission's comments on accounting for acquisition-related in-process research and development. As reported Oct. 27, Mattson Technology reported third quarter earnings which included a $5.8 million charge for the writedown of in-process technology incurred in connection with the acquisition of Concept Systems Design. The company said it has not received any SEC inquiry. but said it has decided to 'take a proactive stance' and 'complete the work required to determine the effect, if any, that the comments will have on the results.' The company said the write-off fit in with industry practice at the time, and was based upon an independent appraiser's valuation. Mattson Technology supplies semiconductor process equipment.
